Mirela, together with colleagues, publish a paper on socio-environmental systems research

Figure 4 from the publication. “Diagram highlighting aspects of the NEON AOP that can contribute to understanding SES interactions and feedback processes in space and time using drought as an example.”

The paper, Leveraging the NEON Airborne Observation Platform for socio-environmental systems research, was published on June 21, 2021 in Ecosphere.

This collaboration stemmed from a SESYNC funded group. As posted here , Mirela was selected to participate in a SESYNC workshop along with ~20 other scientists in February 2020. The publication stemmed from this workshop.

The publication explores datasets from the National Ecological Observatory Network’s Airborne Observation Platform (NEON AOP), dicusses specific applications of these data for Socio-Environmental Systems (SES) research, highlights current challenges in SES reseach, and suggests areas where SES research can improve and expand by using the NEON AOP.
